Peeking behind the Enterprise Curtain of AI diffusion
Filling a Coverage Gap
This blog seeks to fill a notable gap in public coverage of how AI is diffusing within large enterprises: what is working, what is not, and what is hard.
As transformative as AI promises to be, the details of its integration are usually full of very generic narratives and often filtered. Only successes are advertised, but wrong turns are quickly swept under the rug. Since there will be many wrong turns with a new technology, learning how “not to do it” is incredibly valuable.
In my day job role as a Management Consultant whose primary job is to help enterprises build AI solutions (I started my career as a Software Engineer). This provides me a front-view seat to this process across many different organizations, which should lead to better generalizations. Fear not, nothing confidential or proprietary will be shared and views here are my own and not of my employer.
What to Expect
Each week, in 500-1000 words, I’ll share insights stripped of fluff, focusing solely on the real-world application and impact of AI. These posts will be concise, direct, and packed with realistic observations on challenges from the adoption frontlines.
Inspiration
Inspired by the clarity, incisiveness, and persistence of writers like Paul Graham and Ben Thompson.
Beyond addressing this coverage gap, writing here is also a personal endeavor to refine my own thinking. Leslie Lamport wisely said, "If you’re thinking without writing, you only think you’re thinking," and this platform will serve as a means to crystallize thoughts into actionable insights. This is also dearly needed since, as a consultant, most of my “writing” happens within PowerPoint, which Jeff Bezos pointed out isn't ideal for expressing nuanced narratives.
Join me on this journey to uncover what AI adoption truly looks like behind the enterprise curtain.
